Low Cost But Dull Sound - Auvio Wireless Headphones Review
It covers my whole home and out into the yard for a little distance. You'll never get the rated 100 meter range unless the transmitter and receiver are both outside and in the clear, but the range of this pair is very adequate! The Sennheiser RS 180 Headphones exceeded all of my requirements. There is ample room for over the ear hearing aids in the muffs if you need additional sound clarification and tweaking, but the sound quality is so great you don't really need them.
I red some comments before I bought them that they are difficult to pair - I didn't find that at all. In fact, as soon as powered up the transmitter and put the batteries in, they came right on! I find having the base besides the TV flashing at me all the time even more annoying than the complete idiocy of buttons that you can't feel. This is utterly ridiculous engineering. I would have preferred to have a nice manufacturer booklet. The packaging was so secure that it took me some time to actually get into the box.
And, most importantly, the sound is absolutely amazing. There's no extraneous background noise at all: no hissing, no hums, no snaps, crackles, or pops. If you accidentally hit one of the balance buttons, you can hold down both balance buttons at the same time to reset. Oh, and one other potential drawback: they make the wearer look like a total dork.
Here's a quick review for you. The quality is absolutely great, and the range is incredible. I've had these for a month or more. The have a beautifully comfortable fit, a high quality sound that reaches out to the end of my yard and everywhere in my house. I was immediately blown away, swept into a cinematic oasis, a sound panorama that disintegrated any assumptions about how a movie should leave a lasting impression! They are exceptionally comfortable and well worth the price, and you will not be disappointed!
Next to Frankie Goes to Hollywood, I don't think another pop act captures the zeitgeist of the 80's as well. Next I moved on to a Blu ray concert of Hall & Oates Live at the Troubadour. We partially solved that by putting a small foam pad on the on/off button (thus separating the volume buttons). But why should we have had to invent a solution? They are very comfortable; you almost forget you are wearing them. Installation was very simple to do. After it dried in about an hour, it left those buttons with a raised "bump" that my fingers can easily find. The on/off/standby button is between the volume buttons, so it is now easy to find with my fingers also.
